The Office of International and Scientific Cooperation (OISC) at K.N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU) acts under University’s vice-Presidentship of research and is currently directed by Dr. Hamid D. Taghirad .

   Conduction of efficient research work requires continuous communication and collaboration with other research centers. OISC is in charge of providing the grounds for collaboration of our faculty members and students with other research centers inside and outside Iran. One of the major missions of OISC is to introduce the potentials of KNTU to other universities and research centers. It also tries to convey the information it acquires from foreign universities and research centers to the University community.

OISC also looks after the following scientific activities:

  • Signing of Memoranda of Understanding between KNTU and other institutions
  • Communicating with scientific organizations outside Iran
  • Visits by foreign delegates to KNTU
  • Visits to other international institutions by KNTU delegates
  • Travel of KNTU faculty members to international conferences
  • Membership of KNTU faculty members in professional societies
  • Exchange of students with foreign universities
  • Sabbatical or study leaves of KNTU faculty members
  • Short term research programs of PhD students at foreign universities

The current effective joint programs are as following:

1) Joint M.Sc. Program in the field of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering, with the ITC, the Netherlands starting from 2004.

2) Joint M.Sc. Program in the field of Mechanical Engineering: Energy, with the University of Manchester, UK starting from 2006.

3)  Joint M.Sc. Program in the field of Mechanical Engineering: Automotive Engineering, with the Kingston University, UK starting from 2005.

4) Joint M.Sc. Program in the field of Electrical Engineering: High power systems, with the Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany starting from 2008.

5) Joint B.Sc. Program in the field of Aerospace Engineering, with Mati University in Moscow, Russia starting from 2007.

News and Events

 

OISC have managed to boost its international joint programs in the following field of studies:

1) An agreement with the "n i" network of France is under exchange, to support the students involved in joint M.Sc. programs with Iranian-French cultural and language assistance.

2) An MOU with Polytech' Nantes in France has been exchanged for the exchange of students and Professors, and an agreement for joint M.Sc. program is under process to be exchanged in the field of Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication and Radar.

3) An MOU with ENSEEITH-INP in Tolouse, France has been exchanged for the exchange of students and Professors, and an agreement for joint M.Sc. program is under process to be exchanged in the field of Electrical Engineering, Power electronics, and Electric Machines.

4) An MOU with University of Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, France has been exchanged for the exchange of students and Professors, and an agreement for joint M.Sc. program is under process to be exchanged in the field of Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering.

5) An MOU with University of Paris Sud -11, in Orsay, France is being exchanged for the exchange of students and Professors, and an agreement for joint M.Sc. program is under process to be exchanged in the field of Electrical Engineering, Electronic components and systems.

6) An MOU with ITC, the Netherland has been exchanged for the exchange of students and Professors, and an agreement for joint Ph.D. program is under process to be exchanged in the field of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering.

7) An MOU with University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK  is under negotiation for joint Ph.D. program in the fields of Science and Engineering.
